Your Guide to Kia Sportage Hybrid Trims

Published on Mar 25, 2026 by Ben Kettle

If you’re looking for a compact SUV that’s both incredibly fun to drive and quite affordable, then the Kia Sportage should be at the top of your list. As much as we love the standard Sportage, the Sportage Hybrid model provides you with something even more remarkable by delivering tremendous power and excellent fuel efficiency.

When you go looking for a 2026 Kia Sportage Hybrid for sale, you’ll quickly discover that you have five different trim levels to choose from. While the differences between them can sometimes be quite subtle, there are bigger distinctions that you should definitely keep in mind as you shop. Let’s take a good look at each of these five trims to see what they offer and highlight some key differences that can help you figure out which one is perfect for you.

LX Trim: Great Standard Features to Enjoy

Here we have the starting point for the 2026 Kia Sportage Hybrid trims, which gives us the foundation that the other trims build upon. That said, there are some key features of this trim you should keep in mind when considering everything available to you.

Across the 2026 lineup, the Sportage Hybrid LX features a 1.6L turbocharged hybrid engine that delivers up to 231 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque, ensuring a fantastic on-road experience every day. This is paired with a responsive six-speed automatic transmission, and you get this basic setup across all Sportage Hybrid trims.

One important feature of the Sportage Hybrid LX is that it comes only with front-wheel drive (FWD), which is great for its handling and helps make it incredibly efficient. This trim gets an estimated 41 MPG in the city, 44 MPG on the highway, and 42 MPG combined, thanks to that hybrid engine and FWD.

You get 17-inch wheels on the Sportage Hybrid LX, along with LED projector headlights with auto headlight control, plus LED rear combination taillights, amber LED daytime running lights, and a black front grille with silver accent trim. We should note that only four exterior colors are available for this trim: fusion black, snow white pearl, gravity gray, and steel gray (which is lighter than the previous one).

Inside, you get excellent convenience features standard on the Sportage Hybrid, including a smart key with push-button start, remote start, and auto rain-sensing windshield wipers. Dual-zone auto climate control is standard, along with a six-way manual driver’s seat, a four-way manual front passenger’s seat, and woven cloth seating.

Every Sportage Hybrid comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with a 12.3-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch instrument display—the LX also has a 4.2-inch cluster screen. A six-speaker sound system is standard, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Standard safety features include forward collision-avoidance assist, rear park distance warning, lane-keeping assist, and more.

S Trim: Enhanced Features and Options

Moving up to the Sportage Hybrid S trim, we find some features similar to the starting trim, but also some very important differences that build upon it. For one thing, the S trim, along with every trim that follows it, features all-wheel drive (AWD) rather than the FWD you get standard with the LX trim.

This has a big impact on your overall driving experience, so you should keep that in mind, and it also means the Sportage Hybrid S gets an estimated 35 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. That’s a big difference compared to the LX, although it’s still much more efficient than the Kia Sportage model with a non-hybrid engine.

Beyond this difference, the S trim features larger 18-inch wheels, a gloss black front grille with satin chrome accents, and a Wolf Gray exterior color available rather than steel gray, as well as a heritage blue color that you can’t get on the LX.

You get enhanced safety features too with this trim, including a blind-spot collision warning and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, so keep that in mind. The S trim also has a 10-way power driver’s seat and heated front seats, making it a great choice if you want some refined upgrades.

EX Trim: Enjoy Some Distinct Enhancements

Next up, we have the Sportage Hybrid EX trim, which is not as starkly different from the one we just looked at as the S is to the standard features, but there are still some important details to note.

This trim features low-profile Satin Silver roof rails on the outside, along with a smart power liftgate at the back that you won’t find on the previous two trims. Its safety and convenience features are generally the same as the S trim, but you find some differences inside the EX trim, including SynTex seating that looks and feels great. This means you can get different interior styling with either black seating or black and misty gray upholstery. Plus, you get a wireless charging pad in the Sportage Hybrid EX.

X-Line Trim: Gorgeous X-Line Styling

Much of what sets the X-Line trim apart from the three we’ve looked at (and even the last one we’ll get to in a moment) is the styling touches and details it has available.

For one thing, you can choose a shadow matte gray exterior color for the X-Line (available only on this trim and the SX Prestige), along with unique exterior features such as high-utility gloss black roof rails, 19-inch wheels, a gloss black front grille with a black accent, and more.

Inside, you get a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade, plus premium SynTex seating; the X-Line has a perforated and quilted terracotta brown seat trim available that you can’t get in any other trim. You also get LED interior lighting in this one for an added touch of style.

SX Prestige Trim: The Ultimate Sportage Hybrid

If you want to enjoy the pinnacle of what Kia offers, then the Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige is the one for you. This trim features gloss black low-profile roof rails, 19-inch black wheels with a machined finish, LED cube projector headlights, and LED fog lights—two lighting details you won’t find on any of the previous trims.

You get enhanced driver-assistance tech with the SX Prestige, including blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, a 360-degree surround view monitor to enhance your vision while maneuvering at low speeds, and navigation-based smart cruise control with stop & go.

You’ll enjoy luxurious upgrades with the SX Prestige, including a Digital Key 2.0 system that lets you use your phone as a virtual key, an eight-way power front-passenger seat, and ventilated front seats.

You also get heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel in this trim, plus a head-up display and a fantastic eight-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Surround Sound system that fills the cabin of your Sportage Hybrid with incredible audio.

As you can see, the differences between these trims can sometimes be pretty subtle, like the fact that trims beyond the starting one add heritage blue as an available exterior color. But they can also be quite noteworthy, like the standard LX trim being the only one with FWD rather than AWD, or the highest SX Prestige trim adding an impressive array of advanced safety and driver-assistance features.
